Elon Musk Puts $5 Million Behind DOGE Partner Vivek Ramaswamy’s Governor Bid
Billionaire Elon Musk, who briefly served with Vivek Ramaswamy as co-chair of the Department of Government Efficiency, is now putting $5 million toward helping Ramaswamy land a new job: governor of Ohio.
Musk, the world’s richest person, contributed the money on May 8 to V-PAC: Victors Not Victims, the main super PAC backing Ramaswamy’s bid for governor, according to the super PAC’s latest federal campaign-finance report, filed Wednesday.
Ramaswamy, a Columbus-area billionaire and 2024 GOP presidential candidate, was named by President Donald Trump to co-run his DOGE government cost-cutting initiative soon after Trump won the 2024 presidential election.
"Together, these two billionaires led the largest assault on unions by the federal government in history when DOGE indiscriminately fired tens of thousands of federal workers,” said Ohio AFL-CIO President Tim Burga. "These are the same two billionaires who also stripped hundreds of thousands of federal workers of their collective bargaining rights.”
